TCM - Traditional Chinese Medicine
A truly holistic method, TCM takes all aspects of our being into consideration: body, emotions, mind and spirit. These are seen as interconnecting and are treated as whole.
The premise behind TCM is balancing “Qi” (pronounced /chee/), a natural energy, and restoring imbalances of Qi in internal organs. Fourteen meridians transport Qi throughout the body. The meridians start at the fingertips, they then connect to the brain and from there to specific organs. Stress and other influences can block meridians and hamper the flow of Qi. This results in qi and blood becoming unbalanced. At this point symptoms tend to appear. The effects of stress can be varied ranging from low energy, poor sleep and concentration problems through to stomach problems, low immunity, emotional effects and even menstrual irregularity.
The three main therapies contained in TCM: acupuncture, acupressure and herbal preparations can help relieve pain and treat various chronic and degenerative conditions, including those caused by stress. TCM helps build up the immune system and correct imbalances of Qi in internal organs.
As TCM is based on purely natural therapies it can sometimes take a little time until effects are noticed. However, in some cases the effects can be dramatic and rapid (please refer to our testimonials). Very noticeable improvements have been reported by patients with chronic conditions such as eczema, depression, anxiety, chronic fatigue, stress, shoulder, neck and back pain.
TCM has been successfully used to help with:
MUSCULAR AND SKELETAL PAIN, ARTHRITIS, SCIATICA
IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME (IBS)
EMOTIONAL ISSUES, STRESS, DEPRESSION, ANXIETY
GYNAECOLOGICAL ISSUES, MENOPAUSE, PMT
TCM can also be successfully used alongside conventional therapies and can complement other therapies.
